Hello Digesters, Covid-19 has caused a lot of bad things in the world.
I don't want to go into that other than wishing everybody good health
and hope you are all doing well.
One of the 'advantages', however, was that it gave me a lot more
time as I work from home and no longer spend time on a commute. This
has caused me to spend more time on my instruments and I finally got
'round to implementing the MIDI system that has been lying around in
a box for years to my Hupfeld Phonoliszt. I made a few videos which
I put on my YouTube channel; one of them can be viewed here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KipInkTTSv8
Others can be viewed on my channel, too.
The player system is a Hupfeld Phonoliszt from 1909 which operates
just like it would 111 years ago (in fact the player system is
mainly unrestored) so it is _not_ a solenoid system but still works
pneumatically with minimal alterations to it. Rolls can still be
played. However this makes the instrument much more versatile and
I'd love to share the music. Enjoy!
Kind regards from the Netherlands,
Niels Berkers
