Mechanical Music Auction July 10th, Yorkshire
By Laurence Fisher

Dear MMD'ers, Here is wishing and trusting all is well where you are
in the world. With our interest not waning and auction houses starting
to press start buttons once more since March, it is nice to know that
whilst the lights were out, things in the backrooms of auction houses
were as busy as ever.

Coming up on July 10th is the Tennants' auction to include Scientific,
Mechanical, Musical Instruments, Cameras and Tools, at their house in
North Yorkshire, UK. The mechanical music section includes a good
selection of musical boxes -- a Nicole Freres Mandoline two-per-turn;
a Symphonion 11-7/8-inch box; a Symphonion 14-3/4-inch with ten-bell
accompaniment; a nice Lochmann Original type 68 17-inch box with
tubular bell accompaniment; a couple of Forte-Piano boxes, and a
selection of bells-in-view, a large part-orchestral, straight 6-
and 8-air boxes and others, not forgetting a silver-gilt and enamel
Viennese singing bird box, an Edison GEM phonograph, a Graphophone,
and a box filled full of radio tubes.

If you need a top-up to your workshop hand tools, a selection of
vintage and antique bench tools also awaits, plus pro-cameras and
musical instruments. It is a simple 'bread and butter' auction, bought
forth under difficult circumstances, but there should be something in
there for you. Here is the Saleroom.com link directly to the catalogue
(mech mus/sci lots 2072-2089):

It has been a very difficult consigning effort for all auction houses,
but my very best wishes go out to all houses and particularly the
specialists the world-over, regardless of subject, during this period
of hard work in order to start up again, so we can all look forward to
chasing and acquiring these mechanical music gems.

Least not, our thanks must be given to the folks at MMD for all they do
in keeping us directly informed, musically sane and mechanically mused.

Very best to you all -- a toast to the normal which we all hope will
arrive soon.
