Rare Barrel Organ In Recent On-Line Auction
By Craig Smith
Hi Folks. Thanks, Jody and Robbie -- MMD gives us all a 'family'
connection. So, I have a question and request for help.
Today (Saturday) there was an auction at Vogt Auction House
in San Antonio, Texas. It was on Liveauctioneers, item 0072:
https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/83114708_table-top-wooden-inlaid-music-box
This was an unusual barrel organ in a fancy rosewood case.
I have one just like it and I'd love to communicate with whoever
bought it. Of course, the auction house won't tell who got it but
I'm hoping that it was either someone on MMD or that someone on
MMD might know who it was. If you know (or if you have an "in"
at the auction place) please let me know.
Thanks,
Craig Smith
Upstate New York
P.S.: This model wasn't very popular as the bells stayed in tune,
the piano usually went flat and the organ could go either way!
