Spencer designed and built one of the first optical scanners that
served as a foundation for those that followed.  His files are very
accurate and should serve your needs.  Spencer could also help you
with adding the MIDI function to your Ampico since he was one of the
developers of an early MIDI controller that he and Gene Gerety used
to sell.
