Wurlitzer APP Final Roll Recut Project
By Glenn Thomas

We are in the process of sourcing the next, last, and final recut
project of these Wurlitzer Automatic Player Piano (APP) 5-tune
changer rolls for a likely recutting around April. This will be
the very last project, as Play-Rite Music, our recutter, will be
out of boxes of this type, and there is no reason or logic to order
another minimum order of around several thousand boxes for more
projects.

Each of the previous four projects of 20 rolls has sold out, yet
enthusiasts keep clamoring for more! This project will likely be two
projects of 20 rolls each, which will exhaust the boxes.

For now, we are sourcing original very early rag and one-step rolls,
generally in the number 1 to 500 series, and the late 1920s to
mid-30s rolls numbered around 1900 to 1999 and 01 to 0350. These are
the most popular rolls that collectors request, and what people are
most interested in.

If you have some choice rolls in this era that have not been recut,
would you be willing to loan them to be recut? You would receive your
original back plus a recut copy of any roll loaned. You would also be
a partner in preserving these very rare and desirable music rolls for
future generations.

All I need is the list of roll numbers in this series, or any others
you would highly recommend that you have and would consider loaning.
I would check my master recut list, validate the tune lists, and advise.

Further, whether you loan rolls or not, if you have an instrument that
plays these rolls and would like to be considered for a set of recut
rolls in the project, let me know.

Thank you!
