The machinery on the MMD Website that allows the registration of a new
e-mail address (i.e., creating an account on the website) has been
fixed.  I've tried to improve the messages generated if something goes
wrong as well.

If you have tried to create a new account on the MMD Website and it
failed, please try again.  If you run into trouble, please report it
using the MMD Contact form at https://www.mmdigest.com/Contact  and
click on the button "Report technical problems with website".

My next project is to re-validate that the "change my e-mail address"
feature (when you are logged in and request a change) works correctly.
It think it does, but I'll be working to make sure that all the various
error cases are handled well.
