In response to my 20.02.04 MMD posting, I received an offline
response that included the attached picture of the carousel in
Vidam Park, Budapest, Hungary.
So it seems clear that the unknown machine is a type of carousel
horse mounting to achieve a rocking movement without the normal
overheard carousel crank-and-gear mechanism.
But I wouldn't want to own anything that sits in such an ugly
fashion under a beautiful carousel horse and which must be a real
hazard to riders, presenting a danger that no insurance company
would want to insure against.
