As a newbie to AMICA in 2006, I jumped at the chance to attend my
first convention in Chicago, having no idea what we were in for.
We saw many great collections, but the cream of the events was the
visit to the Sanfilippo estate, and we were totally blown away.
It was a truly impressive if eclectic collection of marvels and
instrument performances, culminating in the organ concert by Jelani
Eddington. We met Jasper in the Eden Palais following a ride on the
lovingly restored carousel, and I said to him, "On behalf of the next
several generations, _thank you_ for preserving all these wonderful
machines."
I'm sure we all have an enormous debt to him for his efforts and
expenses in preservation.
