Seek Reproduco Unified Funeral Organ Parts
By Jim Quashnock

Robert, If I read the description of your instrument correctly
[191222 MMDigest], you have the Reproduco Unified Mortuary Organ and
not the Reproduco piano/organ that most people think of when you say
"Reproduco". Your instrument has no piano, but instead three partial
ranks of pipes, chimes, two keyboards, and a 30 note-pedal board.

I had one of these and they are a bear to work on. I was unable to
find anyone who had a schematic of the tubing, and I sold mine before
ever doing so myself.

Being unified, the internal workings of the pneumatics has got to be
a nightmare since any given pipe is available on either manual and at
one, two, or even three different octaves. Assuming that the internals
are working, just make sure all of the miles of tubing are connected and
not broken. It is tubular pneumatic, so each manual key and pedal board
key have their own individual valve. Make sure these seat tightly.

As to air supply, this is not a very large instrument and the pipes are
small scale. You can get by with a fairly small blower. I've used the
kind that are used on inflatable jump houses. They are very inexpensive
and fairly quiet - you will need to enclose. I have used the ones made
by XPOWER (there are many other makes too). They come in a variety of
sizes. At their website, they list the output in CFM and the static
pressure in inches water gage.

Their 1/4-hp puts out 380 cfm at 5" water gage pressure. This may be
enough, I just don't remember the pressure required for the pipes.
The 1/2-hp puts out 600 cfm at just about 8". This would definitely
work. You can get these for just about $100 -- a very small fraction
of the cost of an "organ" blower. You will need to build a regulator
for the blower to maintain pressure.

Mine was missing the chimes. I think there were just 12. Getting the
chimes themselves should not be difficult. However, if you are missing
the striker action, then you have some building to do. I no longer have
my instrument, so cannot furnish you with much detail. I do know where
two of these are. Write to me privately and I can share that information
with you.
