When Jake DeBence bought this Wurlitzer 153 band organ, he bought it
less the façade. Over the past 15 years, with help from many, we
have been given or built a reasonable facsimile of an original front.
The last missing part was the swell shade assembly, which was given
to us a few weeks back.
Since the organ came less its façade, somewhere along the way all
the swell shade actuators and pneumatics and piping were removed.
We are fairly sure we can make the parts if we just knew what the
system looked like. Is the actuation lock and cancel? Hole #1 on
the Style 153 tracker bar is "Swell Shades Open". How do they get
closed?
Any schematics or photos would be gratefully received.
