Shipping Parts By Train
By Jack Mindy

If there's an Amtrak rail station where you are, you have yet
another shipping possibility. As a regular train traveler, I've
taken advantage of that big baggage car at the front of every train
more than a few times. Since I travel in a sleeper, I can ship one
or two packages (50 pounds maximum, I think) and pick them up at
the baggage counter at my destination most anywhere in the country
(for free!).

You don't have to be traveling yourself. Check with Amtrak Express
Shipping for rates and be aware that a few of the Amtrak stations in
smaller destinations don't have baggage service. Paid baggage may
not have the 50 pound restriction. Telephone 1-800-872-7245 or 1-215-
856-7924 or visit https://www.amtrak.com/amtrak-express-shipping.html
