Gary, Greetings from The Bronx. In regards to your inquiry, what you
have there is most likely a roll compositor for the 'Auto-Typist', as
evidenced by the conspicuous typewriter-like keyboard. The color of
the components also matches the color of an 'Auto-Typist's' mechanisms.
The 'Auto-Typist' was an early answer to the problem of typing multiple
copies of the same form letters put out by many a big company. This
was the precursor to the IBM Selectric typewriter, wherein a multitude
of letters are stored within the typewriter (I used such a typewriter
back when I worked for the NYPD and the Bronx D.A.'s Office.)
