Might anyone out there possess, or know the whereabouts of, a recording
of the very first "Keyboard Immortals Play Again In Stereo" program,
broadcast on the Sunday Evening of October 2, 1966? I would be most
delighted to remit for a good copy or, to trade others of very early
date.
The program for it began with the selection played by Joseph Lhevinne
of the Moto Perpetuo movement from Weber's Sonata Op. 24 in C-major.
The "host-narrator" was Felix de Cola.
(Note: I have found that most are not aware of the fact that the first
half-year or so of the Keyboard Immortals broadcasts, were hosted by
none less than Mr. de Cola. His natural culture and breadth of musical
knowledge were unparalleled, and did far outstrip the admittedly narrow
performance ability of the Vorsetzer, as it then was at that time.)
Thank you!
