AMICA Bulletin Nov-Dec 2019 Edition Released
By Glenn Thomas
The AMICA Bulletin's November - December, 2019 issue has been
completed. Electronic pdf edition subscribers should be receiving
their issue about now. Print edition subscribers should have
theirs around October 15.
This issue has a variety of feature articles sure to please any
mechanical music enthusiast. Ron Bopp and Dave Bowers reminiscence
about memories of Hathaway and Bowers and its successors. If you
have a "legacy" interest in where so much of today's mechanical music
enthusiasm started, the story and pictures of those dealers and days
will captivate you!
Matt Jaro's "Nickel Notes" tells the mostly unknown story of the
Marquette Piano Company. In our second installment in a series about
arranging and producing new music for piano rolls, Julian Dyer and
Adam Ramet explain how it is done. For the scholarly and technical
minded, Bruce Newman tells in words and pictures how he rebuilt the
Howard piano for the AMICA convention.
Plus there's much more! If you aren't an AMICA member, be sure to join
to become part of these wonderful journals and all the events AMICA
has to offer!
