I asked for help a while ago regarding rewiring the armature on my
piano -- a Gulbransen electric registering piano (Recordo expression
system) -- when our local shop wanted an exorbitant price to do it
[190915 MMDigest]. I wanted to thank everyone who offered motor
parts or information.
I ended up sending the armature and field coils to Eurton Electric
Company in California. They rewound both coils, and with shipping
included, it was about half the cost that it would have cost in New
Zealand for just the armature rewinding. Thanks for the offers and
information.
I balanced the armature and fitted new sealed bearings; the piano now
has plenty vacuum and runs quietly. All is working as it should now,
but I have noticed as the Recordo system increases in volume, it also
increases the Tempo. It is quite noticeable when listening to Recordo
rolls. Has anyone heard about this problem, or have any ideas?
Many thanks,
Ian Ferguson
