Seabreeze Park has made the decision to send its Verbeeck replica
Wurlitzer 165 band organ for refurbishment, overhaul, and rebuilding
after it has been playing here faithfully season after season
for twenty-three long years.
Joseph Hilferty is coming up to Seabreeze Park in Rochester, New York,
in late September to disassemble the organ and take it for the winter
to his shop in York, Pennsylvania, where he will check it over, do all
needed repairs, and bring the renewed Verbeeck organ back next spring,
ready to play like new when the park reopens for the season in mid-May
of 2020.
The National Carousel Association will be holding its 2020 Convention
in Rochester, so conventioneers will get to hear and enjoy the revamped
Verbeeck organ playing on the magnificent Seabreeze Park Merry-Go-Round
as it did in 1996, when it was built and delivered by the late Johnny
Verbeeck.
