QRS Music Rolls Public Auction Sept. 11
By Mike Walter
The QRS auction did go off as planned. There were about 30 bidders
there. There was a fair amount of "stuff" to be seen and bought.
Most of the items were machines or office related equipment that could
be in any auction. About 25% or less really had anything to do with the
QRS business.
The advertising items that were framed went to about six people. There
was one bidder who was out of the area. One businessman, who was local
and who plans on opening a brewery in the city, did spend a fair amount
of money on larger items, such as both of the small grand pianos with
QRS player systems. He also bought the large posters of artists that
were in the factory proper.
The auction lasted about four hours and everyone I talked to seemed to
be pleased with the results.
