Hi folks, If you are in Western New York this Sunday, August 25th,
here's an invitation for you: the New York Museum of Transportation
invites you to visit this coming Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. In
addition to their regular exhibits of trolleys, fire engines, buses,
hand-cars, and a huge HO gauge train layout, they will have several
organ grinders with new and antique organs. This should be of interest
to members of MBSI and AMICA and COAA as well as members of the public.
See http://www.nymtmuseum.org/
A special feature of this museum is the opportunity to ride the only
operating vintage trolley in the state, which is powered from the
overhead catenary wire. Admission is only 8 bucks (7 bucks for seniors).
It's free if you bring an organ to share with the public.
The museum is located about 5 miles south of exit 46 of the New York
State Thruway, just south of Rochester, New York. A bonus: just a mile
or so down the road is the Rochester and Genesee Valley Railroad Museum.
They have a special train ride this weekend that features one of their
steam engines: http://www.rgvrrm.org/
Looks like it will be a beautiful day and we have a shady spot under
a large tree. Come and join us!
Regards,
Craig Smith
