Quality of Kranich & Bach Upright Player Piano
By Dave Krall
I'm considering purchase of a 1912 upright Kranich & Bach player piano.
It's in all original condition. The present owner acquired it from her
grandmother and the grandmother had acquired it from the original owner.
It's always been well kept.
I've heard both pros and cons about Kranich & Bach pianos, particularly
the piano actions. Are there any technicians here who have had experience
with these pianos?
And I know a couple MMDers have rebuilt the unique player action. I'd
be happy to hear from anyone who can shed light on the quality of this
brand. Is it a piano to go after or should I avoid it like the plague?
Thanks,
Dave Krall
