Unusual Ampico Roll "Weinerrisch" by Godowsky
By Mike Walter

A friend of mine shared with me today a recut copy of Ampico 62871,
"Weinerrisch (In Viennese Style)" composed by Frederic Dixon and
played by Leopold Godowsky. There are large breaks in the music and
it seems as if this were some sort of trial cut that was issued as
a complete roll. Does anyone have an original copy of 62871 to
confirm or dispel our thoughts?

By the way, it did not have the typical end of roll number punched
into the end leader. Thanks very much for shedding some light on
a puzzling roll.

Best wishes,

Mike Walter
