Mechanical Music in the Movies

I do not recall anyone mentioning the 1953 Doris Day film, "By
The Light Of The Silvery Moon".  Doris Day and Gordon MacRae sit at
a Duo-Art grand.  An 88-note roll is playing and it appears Doris
is peddling the piano (maybe directors call for body language), yet
later the roll is playing and Doris is somewhat still.  Time 40:50
