This is absolutely the wrong type motor for this application. It is
what's known as an "air over" motor which requires that it be in the
air stream of whatever blower or fan it's running. Unfortunately,
after an hour of searching, I haven't been able to find a 1100 rpm,
1/4 hp motor that's not "air over".
If there's a way to put a smaller pulley on the motor, most likely
a 1725 rpm motor would work, and that is a very common (probably the
most common) motor speed. Unfortunately I have no way of telling what
the ratio of drive pulley to driven pulley is. That's the key to
telling if you can use a 1725 rpm motor or not.
Adding a separate blower might work, but it's a really bad way (and
sloppy looking) way to deal with what is obviously somebody else's
shortcut.
Hope this was of some help.
