Passing of Barry Casper, Orchestrion Builder
By John A. Tuttle

Hi All, I'm saddened to report that Barry Casper passed away last
Friday (March 22, 2019) in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was 70. Here's
a copy of an email I got from a friend at QRS.

"Yes, that is true, Steve talked to Barry's daughter, who is the
executor of the estate, and there are no plans yet for a service for
Barry. He is being cremated, and then they will decide what they
want to do going forward.

"He was scheduled to start chemotherapy this past Monday, to fight
the cancer, but his lungs filled up with fluid and they couldn't get
it to stop, so he died before they could even deal with the cancer.
The cancer was a tumor in the esophagus."

Life is fragile...

[ Barry Casper operated the Antique Nickelodeon Company (formerly
[ known as Ragola) in Las Vegas for many years. Stan Rhine wrote
[ in 970512 MMDigest, "They also build MIDI-operated orchestrions
[ with more percussion than the average high school band."
