"Liberty Bell" By Sousa As A Two Step vs. March
By Wallace Venable

I'm not surprised about the dual life of "Liberty Bell"; not after
learning that Sousa's "Washington Post" was also a two-step. I think
that while with the United States Marine Band, Sousa was expected to
play for White House dances. He wrote and sold dance music.

If you Google "Liberty Bell two-step" you will find it is also
a Scottish dance tune. See the following YouTube page: Matthew
Maclennan Scottish Dance Band - Military Two Step - Liberty Bell.
Maclennan says, "We were playing at a Burns Supper Ceilidh at the
marvellous Beach Ballroom in Aberdeen."
