Musical Box Society G.B. at St. Albans Museum and Membership for 2019

I am writing as New Members Secretary for the Musical Box Society of
Great Britain (MBSGB) and inviting MMD readers to join us this year
if they have not done so before.  The first Journal/Magazine of 2019
was published this week and will be the first of four issues sent to
all members this year.

As a new member of MBSGB you will also receive a computer disc of scans
of the first 40+ years of the Journal which must be worth the cost of
your subscription.  As mentioned previously we have a special offer for
joining on the website of £15 if you have not been a member in the past
5 years or are aged 30 or under.  Payment may be made on-line; please

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held in the summer and includes a
members-only auction which is an eagerly anticipated highlight of the
day.

We hold two weekends away each year, in the spring and autumn, and have
four local-area groups in Hampshire, London and the Home Counties, the
Midlands and Worcestershire.  Some meetings take place in private homes
where the collection and accommodation is large, others meet in village
halls and also have private visits to nationally known musical museums.

The first such event this year is at St. Albans Organ Theatre in
Hertfordshire for the London and Home Counties Group on Saturday, 6th
April.  We will listen to instruments brought along by members for two
hours in the morning, will have lunch (included in the price) and then
listen to the comprehensive collection of instruments in the museum all
