New Wurlitzer Rolls 6896 & 6897 Released
By Andrew Lardieri

Good afternoon, ladies and gentleman! It is with my great pleasure
that I let all my friends in the vast, extensive world of mechanical
music know that the final two 165 rolls (rolls numbered 6896 & 6897,
both arranged the genius that is Andy Park, as well as both commissioned
by the head honcho of Play-Rite in Turlock, California John Malone)
have been released and conclude another amazing year of new Wurlitzer
165 rolls.

Roll 6896 is an eclectic program of 7 famous pieces from the Classical
and Romantic eras of music. This includes works by composers such as
Beethoven, Chopin and Brahms etc. Each arrangement on the roll is
incredibly lengthy (even more so than Andy's arrangement is of "In A
Persian Market" on roll 6876).

On the other hand, so to speak, roll 6897 is yet another eclectic
selection of popular country rock hits from the 1950s, '60s and '70s
including: Flowers On The Wall, Walk Right Back and Hello Mary Lou.

Meanwhile, as I'm sending this post, the Malone perforator is currently
busy in recutting early Wurlitzer 150 rolls for Mikey Mills. After that
project is complete (hopefully by New Year's Day of 2019, as predicted
by Glenn Thomas), the 2019 queue of 165 rolls will proceed. Among the
rolls to be determined in next years queue are a roll commissioned
by Gavin McDonough of tunes from the 1930s and 40s, the 2019 spring
"carousel" roll, and of course the 3rd roll that I commissioned which
has hits like On The Good Ship Lollipop, Do Wah Diddy Diddy, Ramblin'
Man, I'm A Believer and Blowin' In The Wind.
