We continued to do some research on this mysterious pianist. We are
now sure that Eugénie Adam-Bénard had been the wife of Heinrich Adam
(owner of a piano trading company located in Aachen, Germany, with an
outlet and concert hall in Duesseldorf.
Attached you'll find a posting (in German) from the 1906 "Zeitung für
Instrumentenbau" announcing the opening of the Adam Duesseldorf Concert
Hall with the concert pianist Eugénie Adam-Bénard.
We are searching for further details and especially for pictures of
this pianist and her relation to Welte (Freiburg) or Popper (Leipzig).
As we are actually rather sure that recordings might have been done at
Popper in Leipzig, even in the pre-market launch of the Welte-Mignon,
we may find further detail here.
If you can help with material on Heinrich Adam Pianos (Aachen) or
Welte's and Popper's relation to this pianist -- may it be flyers,
catalogues, articles, pictures, etc. -- we would very much appreciate
your input.
