There is much info in the MMD archives about the almost non-existant
Artrio-Angelus Reproducing Player System. Recently in a search through
the archives of Custom Music Rolls, I discovered that they re-cut
Artrio-Angelus rolls in the 1990's.
There is much discussion about the tracker bar hole spacing and the fact
that Artrio-Angelus must have been perforated on the Duo-Art perforators.
Richard Tonnesen had already built a formatting program for Artrio rolls
into the software that operates the punch, so I punched a couple of
Artrio rolls and sent one to a collector who has a functioning Artrio-Angelus
Reproducing piano. He sent back three photos which I am attaching to this
post. The straight 9 to the inch holes definitely do not line up with the
tracker bar in the Artrio-Angelus, especially the first three or four holes
or channels, in the bass.
Draw your own conclusions... and for the record, I have no plans to recut
Artrio-Angelus rolls since the die set in my perforator would have to be modified.
