In 2003 I removed a 190x Melville Clark Apollo player piano from the
basement of my parent's home, along with many banker boxes of piano
rolls. The basement had suffered a week of wetness eight years before;
the rolls, being on wooden storage racks, had not be directly wetted
but still absorbed moisture, and it was largely their boxes that
suffered the effects.
About 20 banker boxes of those rolls -- I'm guessing 15-20 rolls per
box -- have been in the dry garage of my sister and brother-in-law
in Fulshear, Texas, for the past 15 years. They are a mix of rolls,
including QRS as I recall, and the rolls themselves mostly survived
the ravages of moisture that some of their boxes did not all that well.
My sister and brother-in-law don't have an inventory of the rolls
but will happily entertain your examination of and offer for the entire
lot. If you're interested, and are willing to cart or ship them home,
please contact Bob at rm.kipp@gmail.com.geentroep [delete ".geentroep"
to reply].
