Last Saturday, while during a concert at the Glenn Thomas collection
in Belle Mead, New Jersey, I just heard from Mark Chester that the
funding has been raised to restore and relocate the 1910 Dentzel/Looff
mix carousel and Wurlitzer 146-A band organ with bells.
It turns out that the organ will be going to the shop of Joe Hilferty
in York, Pennsylvania, where it will receive the surgery and tender
loving care it has been needing ever since it was restored by Dr.
Bill Black in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, back in the early 2000s.
The carousel, on the other hand, is most likely going to be heading
to Todd Goings' shop, "Carousels and Carvings", in Marion, Ohio.
Let us hope all goes well and that the carousel and band organ will
look and sound great in their home which will eventually be located
somewhere off the premises of the boardwalk because the town of
Seaside Heights, New Jersey, just isn't the same without it.

P.S.: I might be paying a teensy visit to Joe Hilferty's shop when he
has the disassembled 146-A in his front room.
