Mechanical Music in the Movies
By Rein Schenk

[ Ref. 180917 MMDigest ]

> 1941: Een draaiorgel in de Jordaan te Amsterdam - oude filmbeelden

The film "draaiorgel in de Jordaan" was made in 1931, not 1941.
You see a hand-turned 52-key Gasparini organ.

The music is from 78 rpm records, produced in 1928, of the street
organs "Cello" and "Kleine Vreese". Both organs were then owned
by the Amsterdam firm Mohlmann-Warnies.
