Dear All! I proudly announce the newest issue of "Das Mechanische
Musikinstrument" No. 132, Journal of the German association
"Gesellschaft für Selbstspielende Musikinstrumente", which was sent
to our members just a few days ago. This Journal as usual contains
a lot of profound information, e.g., an article about how to play the
Triola, a mechanical zither built from 1919 on, as well as essays on
European collections of mechanical music instruments.
The essays concerning the Hupfeld Symposion in late December 2017 at
Leipzig are continued, not only with information on the instruments
but also about regional industrial history and historical landmarks
built by the fabricants at Leipzig. Here's a link to one of the
articles of special interest:

[ "Bier, Glücksspiel und Musik" (Beer, Gambling and Music) describes
[ the coin-operated Polyphon 105P Premium or Rewards gambling machine.
[ The lettering on the reward token states what the payoff is, for
[ example, "6 Polyphon Bier" which the host who operates this bonus
[ machine is obliged to serve in case of a win. Prosit! -- Robbie
