Thanks, Don, for sharing the "American Pickers" visit to your place.
I have been wanting to see this episode, but do not have cable TV
anymore (goodbye monopolistic Comcast, hello free Rabbit Ears TV and
ROKU). I really enjoyed the episode and seeing you in person finally.
Yes, the visit was nice, but as you said, Frank and Mike have
absolutely no interest in wonderful self-playing music machines that
are much more satisfying to own than "Trade Stimulators" that just sit
there 99% of the time.
Sure, the value on automatic instruments has plummeted in recent years,
and the "Pickers" are not out there to promote the preservation and
enjoyment of these fabulous music makers of the past. All that they
care about is broken arcade machines that they can pick up and resell
for a huge profit.
I did enjoy the last segment and seeing your wonderfully restored
collection of musical instruments and gambling devices. You are
a top-notch restorer, with a great reputation for quality and
authenticity.
