Piano in Storage Unit in Eau Claire, Wisconsin
By Marc Sachnoff
Hi MMD friends, I noted with a bit of sadness that in the storage
unit in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, referenced by David Oppenheim in the
"For Sale on the Internet" section of the 180719 MMD, is a 1929 Cable
Euphona upright in a special walnut case -- identical to the piano
that I have owned and enjoyed for over 30 years. Then to see all the
player actions stacked up -- well, hopefully someone can use some of
them. See https://eauclaire.craigslist.org/msg/6637908644.html
If player pianos have little value, their parts seem to have even
less. A local Habitat For Humanity store in Seattle had some player
parts for sale, but by the time my friend showed up to see them, they
had already trashed the parts. Gone was a 65-note tracker bar from
an early Aeolian piano that he'd been seeking.
I'd be interested in knowing if someone is able to check out the
contents of this storage unit and report back with more photos and
details. Thanks!
