I agree that public displays are nice. I had a public display of
nickelodeons for thirty years in Shreveport Music Co. Over the
years there was a Mills, Encore Banjo, Wurlitzer Harp, several
Seeburgs, Cremona K, Cremona G, and of course the famous Coinola X.
When a couple would come in the store looking for a used piano, one
of our salesmen thought it was funny to take them to the Coinola C-2,
offering it for a hundred dollars. Responses were negative. You
can make up your own mind about the local public.
Once in a while some people would ask to hear more about the [coin]
pianos and to hear them play. For the most part these pianos have now
been sold into private collections. The Encore Banjo is the exception
as it is in a museum.
