Maria Davison asked about information on an organ built by the
George Woods Co. [180615 MMD].  After looking at her picture I can
say I have the same model and I know of at least two others.

Mine has the original candle holders and the barrel is "No. 1"
with all hymns, five hymns in total, starting with "Sweet By And By"
and ending with "Nearer My God To Thee".  Mine is in excellent
condition and another, located by about an hour where I live, is
also in excellent condition but minus the candle holders.

About a year ago we were corresponding with a restorer who had
one and was restoring it for a customer; because of my computer
crashing, I lost the contact information.  Several years ago, one
in pretty bad shape sold on eBay.  I tried to contact the owner
but never heard back.  In Q. David Bowers book on organettes, he
has some information on George Woods.  The book is still waiting
to be published.

By the way, the information sheet attached to my organ states for
$12.00 you can buy additional barrels and this includes packing
and delivery by express.  Maybe we should drop them a line <lol>!
I hope this generates some interest and we hear from others.
