Unknown Player Piano Roll Of Von Dohnanyi
By Hans-W. Schmitz

John Cowles asked for details on Ernst Von Dohnányi playing Liszt's
"Hungarian Rhapsody XIII".

The roll was recorded by Von Dohnanyi for the Welte-Mignon at M. Welte
& Söhne in Leipzig on Sept. 13, 1905. It was offered for the first
time in their British catalogue of Oct. 1913 as No. 494, later also
as Welte-Licensee No. C-494 and F-494.

Dohnanyi played 13 pieces for Welte; all can be heard on the Tacet
label: "The Welte Mignon Mystery Vol. VI".
