After watching a series of William Wegman sketches involving his
talented weimaraners, it suddenly struck me that his two takes on
the Mother Goose rhyme "Rub-a-dub-dub" have recordings of fairground
organs playing in the background. However, the tunes are different
even though they both follow the same exact sketch. In an episode of
Sesame Street, the tune heard in the background of this skit is Emile
Waldteufel's "Les Patineurs," most likely played by a 117-key Gavioli.
The version on the VHS entitled "William Wegman's Mother Goose" instead
is a recording of a Ruth und Sohn organ converted to 150 rolls playing
"Kaiser Friedrich Marsch" from roll no. 13166.
