[ Ref. Bob Taylor in 180501 MMD ]
Greetings to all. Having come across this YouTube video before
I read his post, I have to say that as wonderful a description as
this MMD article contains, here is one case where the subject display
greatly exceeds the expectations after having read the article. We
viewed this on a wide screen with theater sound and I just have to
say nothing less would do it justice. The graphical treatment in
this video is nothing less than superb.
Having always been a fan of great pipe organs and organists, what
a treat to relive what this organ must have sounded like right out
of the factory install. Possibly this is even better with the MIDI
enhancements.
Thank you, Bob, for all the effort it has taken you to get us to this
point in time where we (who may never actually be able to experience
this in person) can enjoy what I only can describe as one of the
penultimate reproducing player pipe organ experiences out there. The
organ, roll transcription, sound, video engineering, and graphic
productions so well came together in this effort, that just watching
this leaves me awestruck.
Thanks for sharing this and all the videos you have been involved with
in the past as these treasures are opened to the world.
Regards,
Dave Haibach (in them thar hills of Kentucky)
