Hi all, I have been trying to establish a complete discography for
our 13.5" Imperial Symphonion Disc Music Box. This music box was made
in New York City, probably around 1900.
From the disc information I have found, there are probably between
230 and 250 disc titles that were made for this instrument. They have
a five-digit serial number that begins with 22xxx and an interesting
"Dimple Drive" around the outside edge to drive the disc. Some discs
also have small rectangular holes between the dimples.
I have been able to collect 85 titles so far. The attached list shows
the disc number, tune title and composer for each disc. If you have any
of these discs and would like to send this information to me, I would
be extremely grateful for your assistance. If you have any questions,
please feel free to drop me a line.
Thanks very much!
Sincerely,
Mike Walter
