Most mechanical music enthusiasts have access to and readily use
the internet. Most are familiar with Internet music services and
sites that provide all types of music for every taste. Some require
subscriptions, and some are there quick and easily, free for a click.
Now there is a site, Mechanical Music Radio, for enthusiasts like us
of that genre. It officially starts, April 1, but is available now
for continuous 24/7 enjoyment, at http://mechanicalmusicradio.com/
The variety is everything in mechanical music, so you can enjoy
categories you have never heard and enjoy those you know on random,
rotation. The Internet site continually updates so you know the
details of what you are listening to. The encoding quality is
remarkable -- a great listening experience.
The site is a production of United Kingdom mechanical music impresario
James Dundon, who has made a remarkable effort to get this right from
the beginning.
While on the subject, I also suggest Radio Dismuke, which continually
plays original recordings of bands from the 1920s and 1930s. This
site has been around for a while and also updates the information of
what is playing on its Internet site: http://radiodismuke.com and
http://early1900s.org/radiodismuke/
You can listen to these programs on a computer, smartphone, or similar
device. Radio Dismuke is also available on smart speakers like Amazon
Alexa and Google Home, by asking the speaker to "play Radio Dismuke".
We should support these services and spread the word to make them
successful and introduce more people to this great music!
