I have two mechanical musical instruments for sale:
1. A National Coin Piano (NCP). It has had its pneumatics recovered
and the 8-roll, roll changer is in excellent shape. The case needs
to be refinished and there are three missing panels that cover the roll
changer, all else is complete and original.
The mandolin attachment is present but not installed. The only problem
I have had with the NCP is that the round leather belt won't stay on
the pump. It keeps jumping off.
I believe that this NCP came from the Player Piano Co. after Mr.
Armstrong passed, and has moved through two sets of hands before I
bought it. It appears that it was in the process of restoration when
the piano was moved on.
The NCP is stored in our garage on a car lift so it is high and dry.
It will be a very easy move; no stairs. From the NCP to the curb
is about five feet.
There is about 15 rolls that come with the unit; I will get an exact
count if interested. (Plus there are eight recut rolls that I
purchased separately that DO NOT work. Explanation on those recut NCP
rolls upon request). I'm asking $2500.00, exactly what I paid for the
NCP about five years ago.
2. Ragtime Automatic Music (RAM) O-roll Orchestrion.
First, the good news. This orchestrion is a full-blown O-roll player
with the exception of not having a secondary instrument, which could
be added (I suppose).
It contains piano, mandolin attachment, non-reiterating metal bars
(bells), piano soft and loud pedal pneumatics, bass drum + cymbal,
Tympani beaters, snare drum (single beat and reiteration beater),
wood block (reiterates), normal and soft snare drum and wood block
expression, triangle, tambourine (reiterates), crash cymbal.
Whole instrument loud affect (accomplished using a boost transformer
that speeds up the vacuum pump). In addition, a cowbell and castanets
have been added. Explanation of multiplexing these last two upon
request. Comes with a box of RAM spare parts. Because of the
inconvenience of the move, I am only asking $500 or best offer.
Last, the bad news: this instrument is not working, and it is on an
upper floor of our house -- exactly 58 steps from the piano to the
curb.
