Recutting Regina Sublima and EP Needham Rolls
By Daniel Davis
Yesterday I was pleasantly surprised to find out directly that
Pipes of Pan Music Rolls has now acquired the proper tooling for
punching out rolls up to 25" in width, which is an awesome blessing
for those of us with larger rolled instruments like the Regina Sublima
and EP Needham Musical Cabinets.
I am sure there are a few other machine types out there with these
very wide rolls and no source for rolls do to the width and or
demand. Having new rolls of this width are almost a necessity to keep
these machines alive as the originals have dried up so much they are
unusable or the tracking of them is so far off they are of little use.
From what was stated in conversation they were going to be set to
start later this year. I am asking all owners and these machines who
have a desire for new rolls (or know someone who does) to contact Brian
Thornton at Pipes of Pan Music Rolls to express your needs and interest
so that this process might be speeded up a bit and to make the time
invested worth his time.

Please let them know you saw this posting by Daniel Davis, upcoming
music box restorer, and let's look forward to this great opportunity
to reproduce these near impossible-to-find rolls. Thanks.
Good collecting!
