An insignificant footnote: Arthur Godfrey's 1970s show wasn't the same
as his earlier show. Rather than a variety show, it was a short solo
(a fraction of a half hour) where he would muse on events of the day
or some such.
I only remember his chuckle, which was kind of sticky. It sounded like
Barney Rubble's laugh, slowed down to about two-thirds speed.
