I am helping someone get their Wurlitzer 1203 player piano working
again and am in need of a power supply transformer and vacuum motor.
Both are located in the bottom of the piano on the right side.
The lady who owned the piano before the current owner ran a roll on the
piano and let it play, rewind, then left the piano without shutting it
off for several days. She discovered that it was left on and shut it
off. She came back to check it and switched it on to a flash from the
right side of the spoolbox.
She decided to give it to the current owner who saw that the flash came
from a badly blown fuse. He thought he could change it and it would
work. He changed it to a 10 ampere fuse (in place of the 8 amp that
was supposed to be there), and switched the piano on to another bright
flash as the 10 amp fuse blew as well!
I can only imagine that the power supply must have cooked when the
piano was left on for days, and when it was shut off and allowed to
cool, a winding shorted, causing the fuse to blow.
If anyone has a better theory, I am all ears and would love to learn.
Until then I'd like to purchase a power supply transformer and possibly
a vacuum unit for a Wurlitzer 1203. If someone has a spare I would be
greatly appreciative!
Thank you all very much,
