Simplex + Standard Hybrid Player Action
By Vince Wukmir

Hi MMR's, Here is an interesting late model Starck player piano.
It's a hybrid -- do we call it a Standardplex or a Simplexandard?
The spool box is Simplex and the pump bellows are Simplex, but the
valves, pneumatics, and air motor are from a single-valve Standard
(except the air motor has Simplex feet). The piano dates to 1931.
All appears to be factory installed.

Did Simplex run out of unit valve components? Did Standard buy Simplex
earlier and incorporate components from both mechanisms in the end,
or vice versa? I'd love to hear everybody's feedback.
