I am currently repairing a B. H. Abrahams "Britannia" upright 17-1/4"
disc box, with coin-operation, duplex combs. Can anyone who owns one
of these please send me some pictures showing the original speed
regulator linkage?
In the example I have, all this is missing, except an obviously
non-original, very crudely made lever, with nothing connecting it to
the governor. I can create a working setup but would much prefer
to return it to its exact, original configuration.
There is a threaded hole, presumably for a shoulder screw, in the
governor bracket, which may have been the pivot point for the original
tempo regulator lever, and/or a spring force pressure pad engaging
against the worm gear or disc on worm gear, in a similar fashion to
that of phonographs. Any pictures, sketches, diagrams would be much
appreciated!
If your model is similar to this one, you may be able to take photos
by viewing through the glass panel at front below bedplate. This model
is also known as the "Smoker's Cabinet", and the speed regulator setup
is likely the same or very similar in smaller disc size models.
