[ Ref. 17.10.06 MMD, The Joys (?) Of Silicone (?) Adhesive ]
It's a Standard Pneumatic action, which should be a straightforward
job. They are usually a relaxing job to do, but not this one.
Enclosed is picture of the valves, which have been glued in with
some kind of white glue.
It's not silicone caulking, but it looks the same. It is marginally
more breakable (less rubbery). However, this stuff is gooped on all,
under each seat and in the screw holes that hold the seat in place.
I removed all four screws, and I still don't think I can get these off
without bending the seats and/or tearing the valve board to shreds.
Any suggestions? I'm a big fan of denatured alcohol, discreetly
applied with a syringe, but I'm open to any suggestions. Many thanks
in advance.
