I am, sadly, working with several families here in the UK and France
where the person who has a collection of automatic or mechanical
musical instruments has either died or is about to down-size their
house. In most cases the disposal of the collection can take place
over a few months but in one case the house will be on the market in
early 2018. I am currently offering the collections of
- The late Mick Doswell who ran the Rye Treasury of Mechanical Music
[40 instruments located in Hastings, Sussex, England];
- The Late Daphne Ladell which contains 180-plus instruments including
Automata, Musical Boxes, Organettes, Gramophones, Street Organs and
much larger instruments (located in Surrey, England), and shortly
there will be
- a collection from Nigel Perry who is down-sizing Ampico A Grand
and Steck Pedal Electric Duo-Art plus smaller instruments (Normandy,
France).
There will be a few more small collections ready soon. If you would
like details of any particular collection, along with bidding and
viewing arrangements do please contact me.
I will not be available this weekend as I will be at the Milton Keynes
Organ Festival; please see posting of last week [170925 MMDigest].
