Seek Seeburg X Expression Player Piano Info
By Randy Hayno

I'm very curious about Seeburg X pianos. Years ago I purchased
Seeburg X multi-tune rolls for my Art Apollo piano. They were in
original boxes without spool ends but wound on regular size cardboard
tubes with a wooden key in one end to engage with some type of spool
end. The rolls are about the size of Ampico Jumbo rolls.

I've never seen a Seeburg X piano in person, but have been told they
have a spool box like a normal player piano. I'm attaching pictures of
the spool and a label scan from one of the rolls. As you can see, it
was sold by George H Leathurby Co, 183 Golden Gate Ave, San Francisco
CA. This roll has 10 tunes but most of them have 6-8 tunes. I had to
spool them on Ampico Jumbo spools to play them on my Art Apollo.

My question is, were there more than one type of Seeburg X -- say,
a home model and a coin operated model? This roll took a special
removable spool end to drive it.

Please respond to the group so this info will be out there. I couldn't
find much about this in the books I own.

Thanks,
Randy Hayno
